The protector, provider and backbone of a family are words that define the title “father”. A great Sunday, a memorable day, a family day as well as a day to appreciate and be thankful for our fathers that have always been there as pillars in the family. Father’s Day is celebrated every third Sunday of June after the United States President Richard Nixon signed a declaration to honor the roles of fathers in society. It was also an idea by Sonora Smart Dodd to commemorate all hardworking fathers. She was inspired to do so after attending Mother’s Day church service. She wanted to honor her father, William Jackson Smart who was a farmer, Civil War veteran, and single parent who cared for Sonora and her five brothers after the passing of his wife who died at the birthing of their youngest child. Thus on 19th June 1910 was the first ever Father’s Day event observed.

With that in mind, we can’t help but be grateful for the father figures in our lives and it is never too late to celebrate as well as appreciate them with a customized gift. Every day is precious with our fathers. What can be more meaningful than celebrating with parents who shape and nurture you to be the best? Happy Father’s Day.
